Bangladesh, Feb. 3 -- A big steam turbine is being installed in the 1320 MW Payra Power Plant. In fact, the steam-turbine is the largest turbine of its kind in the country. One unit of this power plant is expected to commence commercial operation from the August of this year.
Khurshid Alam, the chief executive officer of Bangladesh China Power Company Ltd said that, the one unit of the power plant that is to be commissioned soon has a generation capacity of 660 MW. Workers are trying hard to meet the deadline, he added. The turbine of unit-1 is already being installed and initiatives are taken to install the second one.
