ILAM, Jan. 16 -- Medics attending to Dr Govinda KC have started administering antibiotics through injection to control infection in his right lung.

Dr Bijendra Krishna Shah, acting medical superintendent at Ilam District Hospital, said that antibiotics were administered on Tuesday with KC's consent.

The anti-corruption crusader, who has been staging fast-unto-death strike for the past seven days, was admitted to the district hospital on Monday morning after he contracted pneumonia.

The agitating surgeon has infection in his right lung, the doctors said adding that he has been also suffering from low blood oxygen level, low blood pressure and arrhythmia.
