Sri Lanka, Jan. 15 -- The Department of Wildlife Conservation (DWC) should continue conservation activities without bowing down to any political influence, Wildlife, Tourism Development and Christian Cultural Affairs Minister John Amaratunga said yesterday.
Minister Amaratunga also said the DWC should take the experts' advice and opinions into consideration to strengthen wildlife conservation practices in Sri Lanka.
He said the government expects tourist arrivals to reach three million this year. The initial target of the Tourism Ministry was hindered by the political crisis that took place recently.
