KATHUA, Aug. 18 -- Three persons were today killed and at least 26 others injured, when a passenger bus skidded off the road and fell into a gorge in Kathua district. The bus, carrying people to a rally of Union minister for Health Gulam Nabi Azad, rolled down into the gorge at Mahanpur area, police said. Three persons died on the spot, while 26 others were rushed to a hospital. Azad and deputy chief minister of the state Tara Chand announced compensation of Rs 50,000 for the families of those killed in the mishap. Minister for state of cooperatives Manohar Lal Manohar visited injured at the hospital.
