Sri Lanka, May 1 -- In a significant development aimed at improving the livelihoods of estate workers in the tea and rubber sectors, a Gazette Notification has been issued to increase the daily minimum wage. Effective immediately, the daily minimum wage for estate workers engaged in both the tea and rubber industries has been raised to Rs. 170.

This adjustment reflects a commitment to addressing the challenges faced by estate workers and ensuring that they receive fair and adequate compensation for their labor.
