Sri Lanka, April 20 -- The nation bids farewell to a revered figure as the funeral of Dr. A.T. Ariyaratne, the founder of the Sarvodaya Shramadana Movement, will be held today at 4.00 p.m. at Independence Square. Dr. Ariyaratne will be accorded State honours for his significant contributions to society.

His mortal remains will lie in state at the Sarvodaya Headquarters, Damsak Mandira, located at 98, Rawatawatta Road, Moratuwa, until 12 noon today. Subsequently, they will be transported to Independence Square for the final rites.
