Sri Lanka, March 19 -- Cricket Australia (CA) has announced the postponement of a scheduled three-match T20I series against Afghanistan due to what they describe as "a marked deterioration in human rights for women and girls" in the country. This decision comes after consultations with the Australian government regarding the concerning conditions in Afghanistan.

The series, which was set to take place at a neutral venue in August as part of the men's Future Tours Program, has been delayed by CA due to ongoing human rights issues. This move mirrors previous decisions made by CA, including the postponement of the first Test match between the two nations in 2021 and a proposed ODI series in March 2023.
