Sri Lanka, March 23 -- The Attorney General has formally declared to the Supreme Court that he will not represent former Minister of Health Keheliya Rambukwella and several other respondents mentioned in a Fundamental Rights (FR) petition.

This petition seeks a ruling to determine whether fundamental human rights were violated by the decision to procure medicines from two unregistered Indian companies under the Indian credit line.

During the court session today (March 22), the Deputy Solicitor General, representing the Attorney General, conveyed this decision to the court.

Following this development, the Supreme Court has further ordered the adjournment of the consideration of the petition for a later date.
