MARGAO, April 30 -- Concerned over the recent large-scale felling of trees along the Margao Ring Road, stretching from Comba subway to the Colva road, residents and activists from Margao and surrounding areas have labelled the act as 'murder' rather than mere trimming.

Activists Zarina da Cunha, Kim Miranda, and Croydon Madeira allege that the operation, purportedly for tree trimming, resulted in the unnecessary and extensive chopping down of numerous trees, some over 50 years old.
