Goa, March 18 -- Pokhara declared Nepal's tourism capital by Nepal's government on Sunday. Pokhara, a picturesque city in the Gandaki province as the tourism capital of the Himalayan nation.

It was formally declared during a special ceremony organised at the Barahi Ghat, located on the shores of picturesque Phewa Lake.

Prime Minister of Nepal Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' presided over the special programme which featured musical performances by veteran and popular singers.

During the announcement of declaring Pokhara as Nepal's tourism capital, Chief Minister of Gandaki State, Surendra Raj Pandey, says that plans for various entertainment ventures to operate freely until late night from today.
