PANJIM, May 4 -- Calangute Veterans defended resolutely particularly towards the end as they edged past Ilhas Veterans 2-1 to enter the final of All-Goa Veterans football tournament organised by Mix Friends, at the Santa Cruz ground, on Friday.
Robert and Augustin were the goal-scorers for Calangute Veterans, while Nevil's goal kept Ilhas in the hunt till the end.
Earlier, Fatorda Veterans scored a narrow 1-0 win against Joe Cookies to qualify for the final. The all-important goal was scored by Francis after a barren first session. Fatorda now will face Calangute in the final.
