Sri Lanka, March 21 -- National People's Power (NPP) Leader Anura Kumara Dissanayake and Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) MP Duminda Dissanayake too have stepped down from the Committee on Public Enterprises (COPE) yesterday.

Participating the debate on the No Confidence Motion against Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardene for the second day, he said that it was pointless participating in COPE meetings under the chairmanship of Rohitha Abeygunawardane.

The MP said that the current COPE Committee Chairman has been accused of fraud and corruption, so he has decided to resign from the COPE Committee membership.
