Sri Lanka, May 1 -- The Cabinet approved the proposal presented by President Ranil Wickremesinghe in his capacity as the Finance, Economic Stabilization and National Policy Minister to accept the financial grant pledged to provide by the Indian Government and to enter into relevant agreements for the development of Kankesanthurai Port, Cabinet Spokesman Mass Media Minister Dr. Bandula Gunawardhana said.
The Minister was speaking at a media conference held yesterday at the Government Information Department to inform the decisions taken at this week's Cabinet meeting.
The Indian Government has agreed to provide a grant of US$ 61.5 million to fully develop the Kankesanthurai Port.
