Sri Lanka, April 18 -- The Court of Appeal yesterday issued notice on former MP Hirunika Premachandra to appear before the Court on May 8 and give reasons why she should not be punished for Contempt of Court for criticizing an order given by the Mount Lavinia Magistrate regarding

an incident of assaulting a woman. A Bench comprising Court of Appeal judges Sobitha Rajakaruna and Dhammika Ganepola issued this order after considering the plaint filed by Hardy Jamaldeen, son of Uva Province Governor A.J.M.Muzzammil.
