Sri Lankan badminton sensation Viren Nettasinghe has secured his spot in the Men's Singles badminton event at the upcoming Paris Olympics, the qualification announced by the Badminton World Federation (BWF) on Wednesday.

Currently ranked 72nd internationally, Nettasinghe earned an impressive 24,030 ranking points throughout the season, placing himself in the 32nd spot among the qualified players for this year's Olympic Games.

Under Olympic regulations, only two players per event are permitted to represent their country in badminton. Presently, 39 players have secured direct qualification, including Nettasinghe.
