India, March 26 -- Maruti Suzuki India has recalled more than 16,000 units of its bestselling hatchbacks-the Baleno and the Wagon R- owing to a potential fault in a part of the fuel pump motor. The recall affects 4,190 units of the Wagon R and 11,851 units of the Baleno, which were manufactured between July 30 and November 1, 2019. The company has stated that a defective fuel pump can lead to problems with the starting or stalling of the engine. To address this issue, the brand's authorised dealer workshops will contact the owners of the affected vehicles and provide a free replacement of the defective part.
