Minister urges Central Java farmers to report late aid deliveries
Jakarta, Feb. 13 -- Minister of Agriculture Andi Amran Sulaiman has encouraged flood-affected farmers and local governments in Central Java to report immediately if their promised assistance does not arrive within a week.
"If the assistance I promised has not arrived in a week, send representatives from Demak to Jakarta. I will cover their travel and accommodations," Sulaiman noted in a statement from the Ministry of Agriculture on Monday.
The ministry delivered Rp30 billion (around US$1.9 million) worth of agricultural facilities and infrastructure assistance to Central Java flood victims. This included fertilizers, seeds, tools, and other harvesting equipment to expedite production.
