Jakarta, April 26 -- Manpower Minister Ida Fauziyah has urged vocational training centers to adjust courses to the workforce demand in the job market to prevent unemployment among alumni.

In her opening speech for a competency-based training activity, which was followed online from Jakarta on Friday, she said that vocational and productivity training centers (BBPVPs) should redesign their training courses while taking workforce demand into consideration.

"We need to continue to increase the employment rate among alumni of training centers. Vocational training centers should not produce unemployed people as the output. It is better to shut down BBPVPs that only produce unemployed persons," she added.
