Jakarta, May 2 -- Indonesian Foreign Affairs Minister Retno Marsudi stated that Indonesia and Turkey follow the same principle in responding to the issue of Palestine.

Palestine was the main matter of concern during Marsudi's bilateral meeting with Turkish counterpart, Hakan Fidan, in Ankara on Wednesday.

"Indonesia's position is very clear. We want to always defend humanity and justice for Palestine, for Palestinian people," she noted in a press statement conveyed by the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

In responding to Israel's war on Gaza, the minister underscored that Indonesia wants an immediate and lasting ceasefire as well as unhindered and sustained humanitarian assistance.
