Jakarta, Feb. 14 -- Investment Minister and Indonesia Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) Head Bahlil Lahadalia estimates that battery production for electric cars can reach 100 gigawatt hours (GWh), so it can meet the needs of 1.7 million electric cars.

"Perhaps, in 2027, approximately 100 gigawatts will be produced, which is the same as 1.7 million electric cars," Lahadalia remarked after exercising his voting rights at polling station (TPS) 04 Duren Tiga, South Jakarta, Wednesday.

On this occasion, Lahadalia invited the public to be proud, as Indonesia has succeeded in becoming the first country in Southeast Asia to produce batteries for electric cars.
